Resisting Burnout and
Vicarious Trauma

BRAND IDENTITY | CUSTOM TYPOGRAPHY | CAMPAIGN DESIGN | SOCIAL MEDIA | EVENT MATERIALS

Project Overview

YouthREX, in partnership with the York Research Chair in Youth and Contexts of Inequity, hosted an online Teach-In with Vikki Reynolds exploring solidarity, collective care, justice-doing, and resistance to burnout in youth work.

I developed the event’s visual identity and campaign materials, translating these themes into a cohesive visual experience across digital platforms.

Role: Design & Brand Manager

A Visual Language for Collective Care

The campaign’s visuals were built from scratch, including custom imagery and an original hand-drawn typeface made just for the event. Burnout in youth work is a serious reality, but we wanted people to feel care and solidarity the moment they saw it. Warm colours, approachable imagery, and a typeface with a human touch carry that message of looking after one another. The result stays true to the YouthREX brand while still having a heart of its own.

A sneak peek! This is a partial set of the typeface. Want the full version? Reach out.

Designing for Every Touchpoint

I carried the identity across social media, event promotions, digital communications, presentation materials, and the printed program. A flexible visual system kept everything feeling connected, while leaving room for each piece to have its own energy and personality.
